How It Works
Seller won’t ship to Alaska? We can help you get it there!
Send your order to our "My Package 2 Alaska" address in Utah, and we’ll forward it to your Alaska Post Office using USPS.
Simple pricing. Personal service. Predictable process.
Your total is easy to understand: USPS postage + our Simple Seven Service Fee of $7.00 per package.
1. Use your Utah shipping address at checkout
If a seller ships only to the Lower 48, enter our "My Package 2 Alaska" Utah address instead of your Alaska address.
2. We receive and inspect your package
We accept your package at our Utah location, check it for visible damage, and notify you when it arrives.
3. You pay postage + our $7.00 "Simple Seven Service Fee"
Once your package is here, we’ll help you confirm the USPS postage, then add one flat $7.00 "Simple Seven Service Fee" per package.
4. We forward it to your Alaska Post Office
After payment, we prepare the USPS label, deliver your package to the Post Office, and send you the tracking number.

Question 1. Why did your service fee recently increase from $5 to $7?
Over the past few years, our costs for things like supplies, rent, insurance, and labor have all increased. Rather than cutting corners on the way we handle your packages, we chose to adjust our fee from $5 to a "Simple Seven Service Fee" of $7.00 per package. This small change helps us keep doing what we’ve done for over a decade—carefully receiving, inspecting, handling, communicating with you for your preferences, and forwarding your packages from the Lower 48 to Alaska in a dependable, personal way.
Question 2. What does the $7 Simple Seven Service Fee actually cover?
Our "Simple Seven Service Fee" is not just a number on a screen. That $7.00 per package helps pay for receiving your shipment at our Utah address, inspecting it for visible damage, communicating with you regarding your preferences, storing your package safely until postage is paid, preparing and printing your USPS label, and physically delivering your package to the Post Office. It also supports any extra time we spend communicating with you by phone, text, and email so you always know what is happening with your box.
3. Are there ever any extra charges on top of the $7 fee?
No. With My Package 2 Alaska, there are no hidden handling charges or surprise add‑ons. You pay a discounted USPS postage rate for your package, plus one flat "Simple Seven Service Fee" of $7.00 per package. That. Is. It. We believe in simple, predictable math: postage + 7 is the full story of what you pay us.
4. Will the $7 fee ever change based on size or weight?
No! The whole point of our "Simple Seven Service Fee" is that it stays the same regardless of size or weight. Whether your box is small and light or large and heavy, our service fee is a flat $7.00 per package. Size and weight will affect the USPS postage, but they do not change our "Simple Seven Service Fee."
5. Does the higher fee mean faster or better service?
Our goal with the "Simple Seven Service Fee" is to keep our service consistent—and, when possible, improve it. Raising the fee to $7.00 helps us maintain reasonable turnaround times (in most cases within 24 hours), keep experienced help in place, and continue giving each package individual attention. It allows us to keep doing things like inspecting for visible damage, communicating with you directly, and making sure your package gets to the USPS facility properly labeled and ready to move.
6. Is using My Package 2 Alaska still a good deal at $7 compared to other options?
For most customers, yes. In almost every shipment, USPS postage is the largest part of the total cost, and our "Simple Seven Service Fee" is a small portion of the overall bill. Many Alaskans use us because some sellers will not ship to Alaska at all, or only offer expensive shipping options. In that context, paying a discounted USPS postage rate plus a flat $7 service fee is often still a very good deal—especially when it comes with clear communication and careful handling of your package.
7. How can I estimate my total cost now that the "Simple Seven Service Fee" is $7?
Estimating your total is easy. First, use the USPS Postage Price Calculator to estimate postage from our facility in Holladay, Utah 84117, to your hometown Post Office in Alaska. Then simply add our "Simple Seven Service Fee" of $7.00 per package. That’s your maximum total from us: USPS postage + $7.00 (and we can often reduce the USPS postage portion by applying an additional rate discount). No extra handling line items, no hidden surcharges.
8. Are you charging $7 to make more profit, or to keep the service going?
We want to be honest about this. The move from the "Flat-rate Five" $5 service fee, to the "Simple Seven Service Fee" of $7.00, was a difficult decision, which we spent many hours and days debating among ourselves. But the ultimate decision to implement this change is primarily about keeping the personalized service sustainable as costs rise, not about “seeing what we can get.” We want to continue offering Alaskans a reliable forwarding option from the Lower 48 instead of cutting quality, reducing communication, or shutting our doors. The new fee helps us cover real costs so we can keep serving you for years to come.
9. Can I ship "Hazardous Materials" through your service?
Yes, but.....We can help you ship packages which may contain some types of products, which fall under the "Hazardous Materials" classification, but they must qualify within USPS and/or UPS guidelines. For example, products with lithium batteries have some special guidelines, but can most often ship through ground-based transportation. On the other hand, some flammable liquids are highly restricted. If you are unsure, please contact us and we can help you determine if, and how, your product can be transported. If it can travel to Alaska, "....we can help you get it there!"
10. Do you offer any discounts if I ship a lot of packages?
Our standard pricing is the same simple formula for everyone: calculated USPS postage plus our flat "Simple Seven Service Fee" of $7.00 per package. We believe this is the fairest and most predictable approach. If you are a high‑volume shipper and think there may be an opportunity for creating a business partnership, please contact us directly. However, our first priority will always be to keep this process simple and transparent for the typical Alaskan resident, because this goes back to our roots of once being Alaskan residents who were frustrated over not getting our online purchases sent to us because the seller "....does not ship to Alaska!"
